This specimen was lot 1282 in Aureo y Calicó sale 391 (Barcelona, June 2022), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,131 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1627. Felipe IV. Sevilla. R. 8 reales. Muy buen ejemplar. Ex Áureo 19/12/2006, nº 295. Ex Colección Isabel de Trastámara 25/05/2017, nº 777. Rara y más así. MBC+. (kingdom of Spain, Philip IV, eight reales of 1627, Seville mint. Very nice example, rare thus, choice very fine.)"
This cob type was struck at Seville 1621-62 along with cobs from Toledo, Segovia, Burgos (1651 only), Cuenca (1651 only) and Madrid. Segovia also produced milled eight reales using roller dies during this reign.
