This specimen was lot 1417 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 35 (Winter Park, FL, May 2024), where it sold for $540. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN, Seville, cob 8 reales, 1630/29 R, unique. Bold full 3/2 in date followed by clear 0 (unlisted, first example we have seen or heard of) above off-center cross with nice lions and top-left castle, the shield full and well-detailed with clear S-R to left, darkly gunmetal toned all over, AU- overall." This type is listed for 1622-38 and 1641-63. The overdate is not mentioned in the SCWC or Cayón. Similar cobs were struck at Toledo and Madrid.
