Sincona sale 84, lot 458

This specimen was lot 458 in Sincona sale 84 (Zurich, October 2023), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$471 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, Rouble 1877, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB NI. Extremely fine-uncirculated."

This type was struck 1859-85 in respectable quantities but not so many as the prior type (Dav-283).

Recorded mintage: 6,923,000 (including assayer HФ) plus proofs.

Specification: 20.73 g, 0.868 fine silver, this specimen 20.78 g.
