Stack's Bowers 2023 NYINC sale, lot 41380

This specimen was lot 41380 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. 24 Mariengroschen (2/3 Taler), 1772-IAP. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg III (George III of Great Britain). PCGS MS-61. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1762-84 and is expensive in nice condition. There is also KM 365, a two-thirds thaler with a bust obverse.
