This specimen is a copper sol struck at the La Rochelle mint in 1786. It is scarce, being priced by Droulers[1] at double the common date (1791-A). Its face value was twelve deniers tournois. The type was struck 1777-91 in France and is known from La Rochelle for every date except 1790.

Recorded mintage: unknown but slightly scarce.

Specification: 12.24 g, copper, 28-31 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Benjamin Duvivier.
