Stack's Bowers 2025 ANA sale, lot 43395

This specimen was lot 43395 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Empire. Franc, 1807-Q. Perpignan Mint. Napoleon I. PCGS F-12. Though extremely well circulated, this specimen emanates from a VERY RARE and difficult-to-encounter emission. From the Richard Margolis Collection (acquired from John Kirkpatrick at Boston ANA on 26 August 1973 as a gift)." This is a scarce date of a type struck 1806-07 at eleven mints.

Recorded mintage: 9,647.

Specification: 5 g, 0.900 fine silver, 23 mm diameter, designed by Pierre Joseph Tiolier (1763-1819).
