Schulman sale 347, lot 758

This specimen was lot 758 in Schulman sale 347 (Amsterdam, April 2015), where it sold for €8,000 (about US$10,297 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"dukaton of zilveren rijder. 1662. type IIb. gesoigneerde stempel. Ruiter naar rechts boven ongekroond klein stadswapentje MONETA· ARGENTEA· CIVITATIS· ZWOLLÆ ❀. Kz. gekroond generaliteitswapen, jaartal boven de kroon ·CONCORDIA – RES· PARVÆ – cReScVnt. RRRR. Prachtig. uit veiling Jean elsen 89, no. 131. het betreft hier een geschroefde proef met verzorgde stempels door c. adolphi (ducaton or silver rider of 1662, type IIb. Well executed dies. Obverse: Mounted knight charges to the right above the uncrowned small city arms, mintmark ❀. Reverse: crowned arms of the Generality, date above. Very rare, extremely fine. From auction Jean Elsen 89, no. 131. This is a milled proof with well executed dies by C. Adolphi.)"
