Sincona sale 91, lot 3678

This specimen was lot 3678 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 1,300 CHF (about US$1,718 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Halbtaler 1730, Zürich. Spruch. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-FDC. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, half thaler of 1730, Zürich mint, motto reverse. Rare in this condition, Extremely fine-uncirculated, Magnificent condition.)"

This type was struck 1723-36, 1739-45, 1748, 1751-61, 1767-68 along with a half thaler with a city view reverse.
