Sincona sale 94, lot 3256

This specimen was lot 3256 in Sincona sale 94 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 550 CHF (about US$ including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Halbdukat 1730, Zürich. Jahreszahl nicht umgeschnitten. Selten. Vorzüglich. Kleiner Randfehler. Exemplar der Auktion SINCONA, Zürich, November 2021, Los 5610. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, half ducat of 1730, Zurich mint. Rare, Extremely Fine, Minor edge flaw.)"

This type was struck 1718-67 along with a quarter (Fr-488a), single (Fr-486a) and double ducat (Fr-485a).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.75 g, 0.986 fine gold, 1.75 g.
