Sincona sale 98, lot 4626

This specimen was lot 4626 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$2,176 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Dukat 1645, Zürich. Selten. Fast vorzüglich. Leicht gewellt. (Switzerland, city and canton of Zürich, ducat of 1645, Zürich mint. Rare, About Extremely Fine, Slightly wavy flan.)"

The SCWC lists this rare type for 1645 only. This example did not realize the catalog value.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specifications: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3.46 g.
