Zurich 1645 1/4 ducat Fr-466
This specimen was lot 3314 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €320 (about US$414 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ZÜRICH Stadt. 1/4 Dukat 1645. GOLD. Feine Goldpatina, min. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (city of Zürich, quarter ducat of 1645, fine gold color, minimum planchet flaws on edge, very fine to extremely fine.)"
Quarter ducats were struck occasionally in Zurich in the seventeenth century. Tho not common, they are quite a bit more affordable than ducats or double ducats. This type is listed for 1641-51 and 1670-71.
