This specimen was lot 33835 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic silver Proof Piefort 'Year of the Child' 10 Kwacha 1980 PR66 Ultra Cameo NGC, London mint." The circulation coinage of Zambia, in sourthern Africa, is scanty. Many NCLT's of Zambia feature such un-African topics as Princess Diana, the euro and Roald Amundsen. Kenneth Kaunda, shown on the obverse, was president of Zambia 1964-91.
