This specimen was lot 12117 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $306. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Wurttemberg. 10 Mark, 1905-F. NGC MS-62." Wurttemberg began the issue of the unified empire coinage in 1872 and quckly became a major producer with Prussia and Bavaria. This type, struck 1893-1913, is common.
Recorded mintage: 200,000 plus proofs.
Specification: 3.98 g, 0.900 fine gold, .115 troy oz AGW.
