Westfriesland 1716 6 stuivers
The first specimen was lot 1309 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 2,600 CHF (about US$3,156 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"THE NETHERLANDS | Westfriesland. 6 Stüber 1716. Scheepjesschilling. Von grösster Seltenheit. Fast FDC. NGC UNC Details. Auf der Rückseite minimal bearbeitet. (Netherlands, province of Westfriesland, six stuivers of 1716. Of the highest rarity, About uncirculated, Minor tooling on the reverse.)"
This type was struck 1715-21, 1724-25, 1729-38 plus a few in gold. The denomination was last struck in Westfriesland in 1771. The second specimen was lot 43075 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[2] noted,
"NETHERLANDS. West Friesland. Silver Klippe 6 Stuivers, 1716. PCGS Genuine--Tooled, AU Details."
