Venice (1618-23) 1/4 zecchino Fr-1293
This specimen was lot 6135 in Künker sale 336 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €360 (about US$471 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ITALIEN, VENEDIG, Antonio Priuli, 1618-1623. 1/4 Zecchino o. J. GOLD. R Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (republic of Venice, Antonio Priuli, 1618-23, undated quarter zecchino. Scarce, very fine to extremely fine.)"
As a rule, Venetian coins were not dated and can only be identified as to ruler. Ducats of this doge, Antonio Priuli, are fairly common. Even the quarter and half zecchini, normally extremely rare, are available.

Specification: 0.87 g, 0.999 fine gold, 15-16 mm diameter, this specimen 0.86 g.
