from the Stack's Bowers June 2021 Collector's Choice sale, lot 72529

This specimen was lot 72529 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $216. The catalog description^[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Utrecht. Duit, 1786. NGC MS-66 Brown. Quite satiny and vibrant, this deep brown Gem glistens with radiance and features a lighter red nature enveloping the devices." This type was struck in Utrecht 1739-68, 1780-93 with an extensive series of presentation strikes in silver and gold.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.

Specification: 2.84 g, copper, 21.5 mm diameter.
