This specimen was lot 898 in Sincona sale 69 (Zürich, May 2021), where it sold for 8,500 CHF (about US$11,281 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"THE NETHERLANDS | Utrecht, Provinz. 2 Dukaten 1786. Abschlag von den Stempeln des Scheepjeschilling (6 Stüber). Selten. Prachtvolle Erhaltung mit feiner Goldpatina. (Netherlands, province of Utrecht, double ducat of 1786, off metal strike using schilling ides. Rare. NGC MS63, Beautiful condition with magnificent gold patina.)"
This type was struck in silver 1785-89 and 1794. The gold presentation piece (KM 101a) was struck 1740-57, 1760, 1763-64, 1769, 1772, 1775, 1784-89 and 1794.
Recorded mintage: 2,915 for 1785-86.
