This specimen was lot 33110 in Heritage sale 3089 (Dallas, TX, January 2021), where it sold for $3,600. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands. Utrecht. Provincial gold 2 Ducat 1760 MS61 NGC. Struck to laudable precision, every motif razor-sharp and easily picked out against the surrounding elements. Gleaming mirrorlike reflectivity resides in the fields, these revealing only an even spread of gentle friction to limit the assigned grade." This type was struck throughout the eighteenth century until 1794 but remains expensive.
