This specimen was lot 2653 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $357. The catalog description[1] noted, "TRAVANCORE: Rama Varma VI, 1885-1924, AR ½ rupee, ME1087 (1912), light obverse stain, otherwise lustrous, Unc." This type was struck ME 1082-1106 and is fairly scarce. Travancore was a princely state on the SW tip of India adjacent to the Madras presidency.

Recorded mintage: 300,000.

Specification: 5.44 g, 0.950 fine silver.
