This specimen was lot 56424 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Travancore. 8 Cash, ND (1906-35). Rama Varma VI (Under George V as Emperor). PCGS MS-64 Red Brown." This type is common in all grades and was probably equal to a sixth anna. The previous type (KM 42) stated "CASH EIGHT" instead of "EIGHT CASH", as here. This example realized ten times the catalog value.
Recorded mintage: unknown plus proofs.
