This specimen was lot 2618 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "TRAVANCORE: Rama Varma VI, 1885-1924, AE chuckram, ND (1906-35), a superb red lustrous example! PCGS graded MS65 RD." Travancore was a princely state on the SW tip of India adjacent to the Madras presidency. This chuckram was struck for the maharajah in sufficient quantity that it is common today, altho this example realized twelve times the catalog value. One rupee was 28 chuckrams.
