This specimen was lot 4895 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,600 (about US$2,094 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH. DIE ÖSTERREICHISCHEN STANDESHERREN, TRAUTSON, GRAFEN. Paul Sixtus von Falkenstein, 1598-1621. 1/4 Reichstaler o. J. Falkenstein. RR Kl. Graffito im Feld der Vorderseite, sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, counts of Trautson. Paul Sixtus von Falkenstein, 1598-1621, undated quarter thaler. Rare, graffiti on obverse, very fine.)"

The SCWC does not list any quarter thaler for this ruler. The count was given the mint right as a reward for his service to the emperor as governor of Tyrol. A double thaler, single thaler and half thaler also exist. All issues from this locality are rare and expensive.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, this specimen 7.11 g.
