Thorn and Danzig in 1648

This specimen was lot 2138 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €6,000 (about US$8,087 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"POLEN, THORN, Stadt. Reichstaler 1659 (Jahreszahl im Stempel aus 1650 geändert), mit Titel Johann Kasimirs (1649-1668). RR Sehr schön +. Exemplar der Slg. Bernhard Terletzki. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 14, Osnabrück 1989, Nr. 3206. (Poland, city of Thorn, thaler of 1659/0, struck in the name of John Casimir, 1649-68. Rare, very fine or better.)"
