This type has been struck at the Bern mint since 1983. The design succeeded a silver issue (KM 23) of 1874-1967. The copper nickel issue of 1968-82 had 22 stars on the obverse.

Recorded mintage: 22,036,000 plus 14,000 proofs.

Specification: 2.2 g, copper nickel, 18.2 mm diameter.
