This specimen was lot 40786 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $2,115. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 4 Mark, 1607. NGC MS-62. Carl IX (1604-11). Nice strike, lustrous and very attractive." This coin was struck 1607-11; all dates are scarce or rare. Unlike the similar Norwegian four mark, this coin did not rate a Davenport number.
