This specimen was lot 11257 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €105 (about US$110). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Mark, 1605. Stockholm Mint. Karl IX 1604-1611. NGC VF Details--Holed. Holed twice. Very rare type. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." In 1599, Karl ousted his Catholic nephew Sigismund and made himself lord protector of Sweden. In 1604, Karl claimed the throne for himself as Karl IX. This type was struck 1604-06. One riksdaler was 48 öre or six mark.
