This specimen was lot 4975 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 425 CHF (about US$569 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND St. Gallen. Halbbatzen 1815, St. Gallen. FDC (Uncirculated)." Switzerland was united in a loose confederation in the Middle Ages and left the Holy Roman Empire in 1648. Each canton issued its own coins until Switzerland was made a French puppet state by Napoleon. Cantonal issues resumed in 1807 and batzen (= 1/40 of a thaler) were issued for St. Gall until 1817. This type was struck 1807-17.
