Sincona sale 91, lot 3551

This specimen was lot 3551 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$132 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ St. Gallen, Batzen 1816, St. Gallen. FDC. Kleiner Stempelbruch. (Switzerland, canton of St. Gall, batzen of 1816, St. Gall mint. Uncirculated, Small die break.)"

This type was struck 1808-17. Forty batzen made a thaler.

Recorded mintage: 68,000.

Specification: silver or billon, this specimen 2.40 g.
