St. Gall 1813-K 5 batzen KM-113
This specimen was lot 3543 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$330 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ St. Gallen, 5 Batzen 1813, St. Gallen. Wappen zwischen zwei Lorbeerzweigen. Geriffelter Rand mit kleinen Löchern. Vorzüglich. Dunkle Patina. (Switzerland, canton of St. Gall, five batzen of 1813, St. Gall mint. Obverse: arms between two laurel branches, reeded edge with small holes. Extremely fine, Dark toned.)"
This type was struck 1813, 1814 and 1817. Another five batzen of 1813 (KM 111) had the arms adorned with garlands. Forty batzen made a thaler.
