Sincona sale 64, lot 3591

This specimen was lot 3591 in Sincona sale 64 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 2,200 CHF (about US$2,757 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND | St. Gallen | Stadt und Kanton, Dicken 1619, St. Gallen. Variante mit kleinem Bär. Äusserst seltene Erhaltung. Fast FDC. Feine Patina. (city and canton of St. Gall, dicken of 1619, St. Gall mint, variety with small bear. Extremely rare condition, About uncirculated, Nicely toned.)"

This type was struck 1618-21. One dicken = 6 batzen = 24 kreuzer = one-third thaler.
