Sincona auction 98, lot 4477

This specimen was lot 4477 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$435 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ St. Gallen, Stadt und Kanton, Halbdicken 1619, St. Gallen. Jahreszahl im Abschnitt unterhalb des Bären. Gutes sehr schön. Schrötlingsfehler. Exemplar der Slg. Viktor Luthiger-Holzgang, Auktion SINCONA 74, Zürich, November 2021, Los 5471. (Switzerland, St. Gall, half dicken of 1619, St. Gall mint. the date in the exergue below the bear. The SCWC mentions a half dicken (KM 53), worth twelve kreuzer, struck 1618-19. The 1618 is scarce and the 1619 is rare. The photo in the SCWC shows the date in the obverse legend by the bear's head. This piece is catalogued therein as a three batzen, struck 1619-24.
