This specimen was lot 73052 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN. 2 Maravedis, 1845. Segovia Mint. Isabel II. NGC MS-66 Brown. One of the finest certified by NGC. Incredible mahogany brown color with some red underlying luster peeking through." This type was struck in Jubia, Segovia and Barcelona 1837-50 and was accompanied by copper one, four and eight maravedis. The type is not scarce. An 1845/3 overdate is reported.
