This specimen was lot 3793 in Goldberg sale 84 (Los Angeles, January 2015), where it sold for $1,175. The catalog description[1] noted, "Spain. Escudo, 1781/71-CF (Seville). Charles III. Rare this nice. Only specimen of the overdate that has been graded by NGC. NGC graded MS-64." This type of 1773-81 is the first one escudo struck at Seville since 1739.
