Sedwick Treasure auction 26, lot 76

This specimen was lot 76 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 26 (Winter Park, FL, November 2019), where it sold for $1,190. The catalog description[1] noted, "Seville, Spain, cob 1 escudo, 1629D, rare, NGC AU details / damaged. Good full shield and cross, bold 162 and fairly clear 9 of date, toning in crevices, high grade but with old scuffing on high points." This type ws struck at Seville with assayer D for 1623, 1628-29, 1639, 1646 and 1659. This is a scarce date.
