Spain 1619B 8 maravedis rev.jpg

Eight maravedis were hammered 1618-20 at Burgos, Granada, Cuenca, Madrid, Toledo and Valladolid. The date on this corroded, worn and weakly struck specimen is legible, unusual for this type. Many later became victims of counterstamping, public and private. Segovia made milled eight maravedis.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 6.6 g, copper, irregular edge.

Catalog reference: Cayón-4386, KM 9.1.
