This specimen was lot 74138 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "ALGERIA. Oran. 8 Maravedis, 1618-T. Toledo Mint. Philip III. PCGS VF-20. Spanish Occupation issue. Ex: Byron Johnson Collection." The Spanish conquered and held Oran 1509-1708 and 1732-92. It was occupied by the French 1831-1962. This rare type was accompanied by two maravedis (Cayón-4239) and four maravedis (Cayón-4311).
