This specimen was lot 21375 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $930. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN. 8 Reales, 1600-D. Valladolid Mint. Philip III (1598-1621). NGC AU-50. RARE 3 year type. Struck on a broad nearly round flan. The mintmark (five pennants on a pole), assayer and first two digits of the date are bold, the last 2 digits of the date are very weak. Nice shield and cross, toned and attractive." Davenport does not list any eight reales for the Valladolid mint during the reign of Philip III yet this date is listed in Cayón.
