This specimen was lot 1770 in Sedwick sale 25 (Winter Park, FL, May 2018), where it sold for $89.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Seville, Spain, cob 2 reales, 1596 date to right, assayer B below mintmark S and denomination II to left. Oddly oblong flan with good full cross and shield, full date, richly toned AVF with minor surface oxidation." This type was struck 1588-98. Assayer B is noted for 1592-1615.
