This type was struck 1986-91. The prior version (KM 2a) was copper plated steel, 1.3 g, 16.2 mm diameter. The proofs were struck in sterling silver.

Recorded mintage: 26,052,000 plus 15,000 silver proofs.

Specification: 1.56 g, aluminum bronze, 16.75 mm diameter, reeded edge.
