Singapore 1989 cent

This type was struck 1986-90. The prior version (KM 1) was 1.75 g, 17.8 mm diameter. The SCWC states that this date was struck only for the collector sets, a claim contradicted by this well circulated specimen. It is likely the SCWC meant the silver version (KM 49a).

Recorded mintage: 20,080,000 plus 15,000 silver proofs.

Specification: 1.53 g (1.24 g per Numista), bronze, 15.9 mm diameter, plain edge.

Catalog reference: KM 49 (bronze) or KM 49a (silver).
