Goldberg Sale 146, lot 1539
G146-1539r.jpg

This specimen was lot 1539 in Goldberg Sale 146 (Los Angeles, July 2025), where it sold for $72. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Silesia-Liegnitz-Brieg. 3 Kreuzer, 1620-HR. Johann Christian and Georg Rudolf. Pop 1; The only one graded at PCGS. Nice even toning. PCGS graded AU-55. The Augustana Collection." This type was struck 1614-21. Altho the dukes of Silesia-Liegnitz-Brieg were enthusiastic utterers of kipper coinage, we don't believe this is one of them. The line lapsed in 1675 and the properties were annexed by the Hapsburgs.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.24 g, silver, 20 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: F&S-1546; KM-150.
