This specimen was lot 70781 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $408. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxony. Taler, 1859-F. Dresden Mint. Johann. PCGS MS-64. A pleasing Taler with frosty luster throughout and speckled toning in the protected areas." This is the most common date of a type struck 1857-59. A mining thaler exists.
