This specimen was lot 70783 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxony. 5 Pfennig, 1862-B. Dresden Mint. Johann. NGC MS-63 Brown. This attractive choice uncirculated example exhibits boldly struck devices with smooth chocolate brown surfaces displaying hints of original mint red amongst the devices." This type was struck 1862-66 in substantial quantities along with a pfennig (KM 1216) and two pfennig (KM 1217). Five pfennige was half a neu-groschen.
