This specimen was lot 1638 in Jean Elsen sale 125 (Brussels, June 2015), where it sold for €80 (about US$107 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, SAXE, Royaume, Johann (1854-1873), AR Ausbeutetaler, 1859-F. Nettoyé Superbe. (kingdom of Saxony, John I (1854-73), silver mining thaler of 1859, cleaned extremely fine.)"
This mining thaler of 1858-61 is fairly common. For 1859, it was accompanied by a vereinsthaler (Dav-890).
Recorded mintage: 94,000.
Specification: 18.52 g, 0.900 fine silver.
