This specimen was lot 47174 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxony. 1/24 Taler, 1768. Dresden Mint. Francis Xavier. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, Unc Details." Francis Xaver was the regent for the elector Frederick Augustus III. This groschen was struck for him 1764-68 and is fairly common. It accompanied a 1/12 thaler (KM 955), 2/3 thaler (KM 973), thaler (KM 976) and ducat (KM 989).
