Stack's Bowers 2023 ANA sale, lot 55796

This specimen was lot 55796 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxony. 2/3 Taler, 1691-IK. Dresden Mint. Johann Georg III. NGC MS-64. From the Augustana Collection." This gulden was struck 1680-91 and is common. Another gulden struck in 1691 (KM 615) marked the elector's death.
