Sincona sale 13, lot 2163

This specimen was lot 2163 in Sincona sale 13 (Zürich, October 2013), where it sold for 1,300 CHF (about US$1,681 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Sachsen, ab 1547 Kurfürstentum, ALBERTINER Taler 1690. Dresden Sehr schön-vorzüglich." This type is listed for 1690-91 and is scarce, verging on rare. The contemporary gulden (KM 571) is much more available.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
