This specimen was lot 2099 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €6,500 (about US$9,046 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM, Johann Georg III. 1680-1691. 1/2 Dukat 1688, Dresden. GOLD. RR Leicht gewellt, vorzüglich. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, John George III, 1680-91, half ducat of 1688, Dresden mint. Very rare, slightly wavy, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1683-84, 1688-91 along with a single ducat (Fr-2750).
