This specimen was lot 2098 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €9,500 (about US$13,221 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM, Johann Georg III. 1680-1691. Dukat 1684, Dresden. GOLD. Selten, besonders in dieser Ehaltung. Vorzüglich. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, John George III, 1680-91, ducat of 1684, Dresden mint. Scarce in this quality, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1681-87, 1690-91 along with a half ducat (Fr-2751).
