Künker sale 335, lot 4281

This specimen was lot 4281 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €280 (about US$367 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SACHSEN, SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM. Johann Georg I. 1615-1656. 1/2 Reichstaler 1651, Dresden. Feine Patina, min. Schrötlingsfehler, vorzüglich. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, Johann Georg I. 1615-1656, half thaler of 1651, Dresden mint. Fine patina, minor cracks, extremely fine.)"

This half thaler was struck 1630-56 and is probably the most common Saxon half thaler.
